Aebi has unveiled the Terratrac TT 212, the next generation of its compact slope implement carrier, marking the most significant evolution of the small Terratrac range in decades. Introduced during the 50th anniversary of the Terratrac family, the TT 212 succeeds the TT 211+ with an entirely new vehicle platform engineered around three objectives: higher performance, greater operator comfort and enhanced safety. Designed for mountain agriculture, municipalities and specialised hillside operations, the new machine demonstrates Aebi’s continued commitment to one of the industry’s most distinctive machinery segments.
The TT 212 is powered by a 75 hp Kubota four-cylinder engine and introduces a completely redesigned hydrostatic drivetrain that eliminates the previous group gearbox, delivering smoother power delivery, higher traction at low engine speeds and reduced fuel consumption. The new chassis incorporates redesigned axles, improved braking technology and a fully decoupled mounting system for the engine, cab and drivetrain to minimise vibration and noise. Hydraulic performance has also been significantly enhanced, with front and rear lifting capacities increased to 1,700 kg, representing gains of up to 30–40%, while the front linkage now offers 250 mm of lateral sideshift on each side for greater flexibility when working on steep slopes. A new 12-inch touchscreen interface and the operating concept adopted from Aebi’s larger Terratrac and transporter models further modernise the operator environment. Production is scheduled to begin later this year, with orders already open.
Strategically, the TT 212 illustrates that innovation is not confined to high-horsepower tractors. Slope agriculture remains a highly specialised niche where safety, stability and implement versatility are more valuable than outright engine power.
