Massey Ferguson Launches MF 7S MARK 2, Creating New 170–245 HP Tractor Series Between 7S and 8S Xtra

Massey Ferguson is expanding its tractor portfolio with the new MF 7S MARK 2, a six-model series covering 170 to 245 hp and positioned between the existing MF 7S and larger MF 8S Xtra ranges. Importantly, the MF 7S MARK 2 does not replace the current MF 7S, which will remain in production. The new line comprises the MF 7S.170, 7S.185, 7S.200, 7S.215, 7S.230 and 7S.245, all powered by the six-cylinder 7.5-litre AGCO Power CORE75 engine and equipped with Dyna-VT continuously variable transmission as standard. Full production and first customer deliveries are scheduled for spring 2027.

The changes go considerably beyond additional horsepower choices. Massey Ferguson has given the MF 7S MARK 2 a 2.95 m wheelbase, 14-tonne GVW and a new front axle, while the CORE75 engine uses a single turbocharger and has 25% fewer parts than its predecessors. Maximum torque ranges from 815 to 1,184 Nm, depending on model, while larger fuel and AdBlue tanks increase operating capacity. The tractors also introduce a redesigned version of the MF 8S cab with the Protect-U separation between engine and operator environment, alongside the new 12-inch Datatronic 6 terminal, upgraded connectivity and PTx FarmENGAGE integration. Two new 2 m-diameter BKT AGRIMAX V-FLECTO rear tyre sizes have also been developed specifically for the series.

Strategically, the MF 7S MARK 2 represents more than a conventional model update because Massey Ferguson is adding another layer to its mid-to-high-horsepower tractor architecture while retaining the existing 7S. Standardising Dyna-VT, adopting the larger CORE75 engine and transferring cab architecture and technology from the MF 8S effectively pushes more premium features downward while creating greater differentiation within the 7S power territory. The revival of the historic MARK designation is also significant: Massey Ferguson says the nomenclature will now identify series updates across its wider product line-up, suggesting that MF 7S MARK 2 could establish the naming structure for future product evolutions across the brand.

Bottom Line

The MF 7S MARK 2 is not simply the replacement for today’s MF 7S. Massey Ferguson is inserting a new six-model series between the existing 7S and 8S Xtra, creating a more finely segmented tractor portfolio from 170 to 245 hp.

The combination of the CORE75 engine, standard Dyna-VT, 14-tonne GVW, MF 8S-derived cab architecture and Datatronic 6 also shows premium technology progressively moving further through the Massey Ferguson range. Just as importantly, the return of the MARK designation appears to establish a new nomenclature that could become increasingly visible as other MF product families are updated.
