Valtra has launched the sixth generation of its T Series, introducing a substantially redesigned 170–245 hp tractor range built around the AGCO Power CORE75 engine, new transmission choices and a new generation of operator and digital technology. The line runs from the T146 to the T236 and combines the 7.5-litre six-cylinder engine with either the ML180 continuously variable transmission or a new 10-step powershift. Customers can order the tractors from October 1, with first deliveries expected before the end of 2026.
The new architecture combines a 2.95 m wheelbase, up to 14-tonne permissible gross weight, hydraulic flow of up to 200 l/min and transport speeds of up to 57 km/h depending on specification and local regulations. Valtra has also introduced Smart Power Management with Eco, Normal and Power modes, while AGCO Power laboratory testing indicates up to 5% lower best-point specific fuel consumption than the previous 74HD engine. Inside the cab, SmartTouch Gen2 introduces a 12-inch interface with ten times the processing power of its predecessor, configurable operator and implement profiles and integrated guidance, ISOBUS and automation functions.
The broader significance of the sixth-generation T Series lies in how Valtra is combining mechanical renewal with a more integrated digital architecture. PTx FarmENGAGE, Tractor Implement Management, Ground Speed Hydraulics and Front Linkage Control increasingly connect tractor, implement and farm-management functions rather than treating them as separate systems. Together with Valtra Unlimited factory customisation, this reinforces the T Series positioning as a highly configurable platform for farming, contracting, forestry and municipal applications rather than simply another 170–245 hp tractor range.
Bottom Line
The sixth-generation T Series represents a genuine platform renewal for one of Valtra’s core tractor families, combining the new CORE75 powertrain with a substantial step forward in controls, automation and connectivity.
It also provides another indication of AGCO’s broader platform strategy. Arriving alongside the new Massey Ferguson 7S MARK 2 in the same 170–245 hp territory, the T Series demonstrates how common powertrain and technology building blocks can support increasingly differentiated brand propositions. For Valtra, that differentiation is moving strongly toward customisation, usability and the integration of machine, implement and farm data into a single operating ecosystem.
