Fliegl has introduced the new Small bedding bucket, a compact livestock attachment designed to simplify bedding distribution on farms where larger dedicated machines would be difficult to justify. With a capacity of approximately 1.5 m³, the self-loading unit can handle a variety of materials including split bales, wood shavings, chopped straw and lime-straw mixtures. Two dosing rollers are fitted as standard to provide consistent material flow, while bedding can be discharged to either side of the machine at distances of up to 4 metres, depending on the material being handled.
A key feature is the relatively low hydraulic requirement. The spreader needs only 30–40 l/min of oil flow and one double-acting hydraulic connection, broadening compatibility with smaller tractors and loaders that may not have the hydraulic capacity required by larger bedding equipment. Fliegl has also focused on a lightweight and compact construction, while the hopper geometry is designed to provide balanced axle loading during operation.
Bottom Line: The new bedding bucket is a relatively straightforward product, but its value proposition is clear: bring mechanised bedding distribution to smaller livestock operations without requiring a high-horsepower tractor or dedicated self-propelled machine. For Fliegl, it also represents another step in expanding beyond its core transport and slurry equipment businesses into practical livestock attachments. The competitive advantage here is therefore not advanced technology but low hydraulic demand, simplicity and compatibility with existing farm machinery.
