American Agro and Agrochery have introduced the fifth-generation RS2604C tractor to the Argentine market, updating their 260 hp offering for demanding field operations. The announcement was documented by Argentine specialist publications on 28 October 2026, although the original company communication date has not been independently established. This is an updated generation of an existing model designation, not the first appearance of the RS2604C tractor family.
The new version is reported to use a 9.4-litre Yuchai K09 diesel engine with Bosch Common Rail injection, four-wheel drive and a synchronised 32-forward/32-reverse transmission. Its hydraulic package includes a load-sensing piston pump rated at 180 litres per minute, five pairs of remote valves and a Category III three-point hitch with a stated 80 kN lifting capacity. Other features include a 525-litre fuel tank, an updated cab with touchscreen and 360-degree camera display, and an 18-month warranty. All specifications remain supplier-reported.
The strategic relevance is the continued development of alternative high-horsepower tractor offerings in Latin America. American Agro says the machine is supported by a network of more than 110 distributors in Argentina, placing emphasis on parts availability and service as well as machine specifications. Competing against established tractor brands will depend on actual reliability, resale values, financing and dealer execution, rather than headline horsepower or equipment levels alone.
Bottom Line: Agrochery’s fifth-generation RS2604C reinforces competitive choice in Argentina’s 260 hp tractor segment, with the real test lying in aftersales performance and whole-life ownership economics.
