BvL Adds V-COMFORT Turbo Straw Blower to V-MIX Drive Self-Propelled Feed Mixers

German livestock equipment manufacturer Bernard van Lengerich (BvL) has extended its V-MIX Drive self-propelled mixer wagon offering by making the V-COMFORT Turbo straw blower available on the Maximus Plus and Giant models. The configuration, documented by specialist media on 23 October and in a manufacturer-supplied release dated 27 October 2026, will be displayed at EuroTier in November. The change combines two established livestock tasks—ration mixing and distribution, and bedding preparation—within a single self-propelled machine.

The straw blower is installed at the rear of the mixer wagon and receives mechanical drive from the existing mixing-auger system, limiting the need for a separate power unit. BvL retains the V-COMFORT Turbo Air-Flow arrangement and quotes a straw-throwing range of up to 30 metres, depending on conditions. A direct discharge arrangement is standard, while a hydraulically rotating outlet with a 190-degree operating range is optional. The integrated configuration is intended to reduce the equipment and movement required for daily feeding and bedding routines.

The development illustrates a practical form of equipment convergence in dairy farming. Instead of increasing the technical complexity of the feeding system for its own sake, BvL is extending the number of tasks that can be performed by an existing machine platform. For livestock operators, the economic case will depend on labour savings, barn layout, maintenance requirements and whether combining functions improves utilisation without creating a single point of operational failure.

Bottom Line: BvL’s new V-MIX Drive configuration targets dairy-farm workflow efficiency by combining feeding and bedding, with commercial value determined by actual labour and fleet savings.
