Belgian potato machinery specialist AVR has expanded the capabilities of its Ceres 440 four-row planter by introducing a new Rotoreg combination, integrating LSM hydraulic subsoilers, a Maschio DM3000 rotary harrow, and the Ceres 440 into a single cultivation and planting system. The new configuration complements the existing MultiForce and Compact versions, giving growers an additional all-in-one solution tailored to specific field conditions. The development was extensively tested during 2025 before entering a limited pre-series in 2026, with public demonstrations planned at PotatoEurope and Interpom.
A key innovation is the independent hydraulic depth adjustment of the rotary harrow relative to the planter, allowing operators to optimise soil preparation directly from the tractor using the AVR joystick or ISOBUS display. The system is particularly suited to stony soils, tractors equipped with wide tyres, and growers who prefer rotary harrows over traditional rotary tillers. By positioning soil preparation, planting and ridge formation close together, the machine improves seed placement accuracy while reducing the number of field passes required. This approach supports higher operational efficiency without compromising planting quality across varying terrain.
