Massey Ferguson will launch the new MF 2700 tractor series at Expointer 2026 in Esteio, Brazil, expanding its portfolio into the 35–60 hp compact tractor segment. Developed through a partnership with SDF, the new range targets small and medium-sized farms and specialised agricultural applications where compact dimensions, straightforward operation and low ownership costs are priorities. The tractors use three-cylinder mechanical engines combined with an eight-speed transmission, deliberately favouring mechanical simplicity and ease of maintenance over more complex electronic architectures. Massey Ferguson identifies applications including horticulture, fruit production, grain farming, livestock operations and general farm work.
The MF 2700 fills an important space below Massey Ferguson’s existing Brazilian tractor families. The company currently addresses specialised applications with machines such as the MF 3300/3400 platforms, while the MF 3700 covers approximately 75–85 hp and the recently introduced MF 9S reaches 345–425 hp at the opposite end of the portfolio. Massey Ferguson says the MF 2700 has been developed around Brazilian field requirements while maintaining the durability and performance associated with the brand. Its introduction forms part of a wider 2026 product offensive spanning tractors, planters, combines, sprayers and precision agriculture technologies.
Bottom Line: The strategically important element is the SDF partnership. Rather than developing an entirely new low-horsepower platform internally, AGCO/Massey Ferguson is leveraging another established tractor manufacturer’s architecture to quickly strengthen a segment where cost, mechanical simplicity and price positioning are critical. This makes the MF 2700 more than another compact tractor launch: it illustrates how global OEMs can use platform partnerships to close portfolio gaps faster and address highly price-sensitive market segments without carrying the full cost of clean-sheet development. In Brazil, this gives Massey Ferguson a broader ladder from compact tractors through mainstream utility machines to the recently launched high-horsepower MF 9S.
