Spanish agricultural machinery manufacturer Ovlac is introducing an updated configuration of its Mini NF 8+2 shallow reversible plough, featuring a new folding mechanism for the rear plough bodies. Scheduled for presentation at EIMA International 2026 in Bologna, the revised machine is designed to reduce its overall length during road transport while retaining the operational characteristics of the established Mini range. The development forms part of Ovlac’s continuing investment in specialized soil preparation equipment as the company celebrates its 90th anniversary.
The Mini NF 8+2 combines conventional soil inversion with relatively shallow working depths of 8–20 cm, providing an alternative to deeper ploughing for residue management and mechanical weed control. The updated configuration also incorporates shear-bolt protection and a damped oscillating mechanism intended to improve stability and handling during manoeuvres. Rather than introducing an entirely new tillage concept, Ovlac is refining the mechanical architecture of an existing product family to address practical operating and transport requirements.
The development highlights the continuing role of specialized mechanical innovation in the European tillage equipment market. As farmers seek to balance soil management, operating costs and machinery efficiency, manufacturers are adapting established implements to deliver greater flexibility without fundamentally changing their working principles. For Ovlac, the Mini NF 8+2 represents an incremental product upgrade that reinforces its positioning in shallow inversion tillage, a segment combining traditional ploughing functions with reduced working depth.
Bottom Line
The updated Ovlac Mini NF 8+2 illustrates how targeted engineering improvements can extend the competitiveness of established tillage equipment. Its folding configuration addresses transport practicality, while the shallow-working concept offers farmers an alternative between conventional deep ploughing and non-inversion cultivation.
